A new poll by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives found that there are only seven cities in the country where people say they would go to for a lift, the same number as in 2016.
The survey found that, of the cities, only four have more than three lifts, and all four are in rural areas.
The four cities with the most lifts are St. John’s, Toronto, Oshawa and Regina.
While there are no official lifts in these cities, a few locals say they know people who do.
In Oshawa, there are some who have been in the industry for a while and say they have a strong reputation for helping people.
“I don’t know anyone who doesn’t work for the city,” said Joe Lamm, who owns Lamm Lift and is the president of the Oshawa Lifts Association.
“The people who work for us are really good.”
Lamm said that he was surprised by the results, given that Oshawa has been hit hard by a severe winter.
He said that the city’s public transportation system was in poor shape and was working on getting a new transit hub built to provide more service.
“It’s a very different place to be,” Lamm told CBC News.
“A lot of people have lost their jobs, a lot of businesses have closed and they’re living on the streets.”
Oshawa is also one of the few Canadian cities with a major snowstorm coming in early January, with some areas reporting heavy snowfall, according to the Canadian Weather Service.
Lamm says the snowstorm could impact the city.
“We’ll have to be prepared for that,” he said.
“And we have to have an emergency plan to respond to that.”
But even though Oshawa’s public transit system is in a state of emergency, Lamm has seen a resurgence of the business in Oshawa in recent years.
The business has grown by 30 per cent in the past decade, he said, and it’s hard to find people who aren’t in need.
“People are very passionate about our lift system and our business,” he added.
“If there’s a problem, if there’s an emergency, we can come to Oshawa.

“Cab lifts are the ones that go from point A to point B and have a lift station on the bottom.
Lift stations are usually in the city centre.
And lift stations are like a shuttle bus, and they run on a dedicated bus route that’s always empty.
They’re just an extension of our lift network.”
Llam said that it was important to remember that a lift can only take one person at a time.
“You can only lift one person and you can’t carry more than one person,” he noted.
“So the only people that you can carry are people who you know and trust and they can’t take more than two people.”
A lift does not carry luggage or other baggage, Llam added.
A taxi driver said that while the taxi industry is growing in Oshawas, people are also leaving the city because of the city being hit by snowstorms.
“Some people are leaving the City of Oshawa for other parts of the country,” said Jason Stacey, who has been driving for three years.
“They’re not coming here to Oshawawa.
They are not coming to Oshiwakes, or St. Albert, or any other city that’s in that area.”
Stacey said that many people in Oshwaxas area don’t like cab drivers, because they can charge more.
“For me, the only reason why people would want to go out of town is if they need to be somewhere and I can give them that lift,” he told CBC Toronto.

“That’s where a lot is different between us and the cab industry,” said Llam.
“With the taxi, we have a lot more control over what’s going on.”
